As an attorney representing elders in nursing homes, I agree that expanding the choices available to the terminally ill is essential.  Your attempt at addressing end-of-life questions with your parents well in advance is a great example for all of us, despite the fact that they were not prepared to confront these issues at the time.  In my experience, it is so much better, whenever possible, for us to make our own choices in anticipation of situations that may arise eventually, rather than leaving these essential decisions to the medical and legal systems.]]></description>
